What in the world is tallow anyway?

Tallow is rendered fat, to be precise. It's been a skincare powerhouse for around 2,000 years. But wait, in the 1950s, the skincare industry decided to ditch tallow for something cheaper. We say they put dollars before health. Consequently, many products today are laden with synthetic additives, chemicals, and fragrances.

Why should I choose organic tallow for my skin?

Tallow is like a nature-inspired spa day for your skin, outperforming synthetic concoctions. Packed with vitamins A, D3, E, K2, and various B vitamins (B1, B4, and B12), it's the VIP treatment for healthy skin. Thanks to its richness in fat-soluble vitamins, tallow isn't just skincare; it's your go-to for anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial skincare! Learn more about how our tallow stands out from the rest.

Can tallow be used on all skin types?

Yes, tallow plays well with everyone! Tallow is a versatile skincare marvel suitable for all skin types. Whether your skin is dry, oily, sensitive, or somewhere in between, tallow works wonders. Its composition is akin to the natural oils our skin produces, making absorption a breeze. This means it can effectively moisturize without clogging pores, providing balanced nourishment for a wide range of skin needs.

Are your ingredients clean?

Absolutely! Our ingredients are so clean, they squeak! We use 100% organic, pasture-raised, grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow sourced exclusively in the USA.

Our oils undergo the cool vibes of cold pressing to preserve all the good stuff. And yes, our essential oils? USDA Organic all the way!

What is the difference between balm and whip?

Absolutely! The main difference between our balm and whip lies in their texture. The balm undergoes a process where it's poured and naturally hardened, resulting in a smooth and solid texture. On the other hand, the whip, after pouring and hardening, goes through an additional step of mixing. This mixing incorporates air, giving it a light, fluffy texture that's delightful to apply. In terms of ingredients and benefits, they are identical – it's all about choosing the texture that suits your preference!

Where can I apply tallow?

Buckle up because tallow is your skincare road trip buddy! It's super versatile and ready for action from head to toe. Dry, chapped, or cracked skin? Check! Eczema or those mouthful skin irritations like perioral dermatitis? Check! Sunburns? Check! Battle-scarred sun-damaged skin? Check! Scrapes, scratches, stretch marks, and even scars? Yep, check, check, check! Oh, and it's non-comedogenic, so no clogged pores for acne-prone folks. You won't be feeling or looking like a greasy potato either.

How long is my organic tallow good for?

A sturdy 9 months of pure goodness for the balm and 6 months for the whip! You can also pop it in the fridge, and not only does it extend its shelf life, but you've got a refreshing cool skin treat for those scorching summer days. Talk about a win-win for your skin and your senses!

How often can I treat my skin to some tallow goodness?

Sky's the limit! Use tallow as often as you like. Most commonly used daily on face and body. You can also apply multiple times a day to any stubborn or needy areas. Just a heads-up: if things start feeling a tad greasy, you might be overindulging. A little goes a long way, friends!

Will tallow make my skin feel greasy?

Tallow should not leave your skin feeling greasy or oily. Tallow, along with our premium organic oils, is non-comedogenic and very similar to our skin's sebum (oil). All of our oils are quick absorbing as well.

Quick rule of thumb - if your skin feels greasy, you’re using too much. A little truly goes a long way!

How is Argan Oil good for skin?

Argan oil, also known as "liquid gold" (seriously, it's that precious!), is chock-full of antioxidants and has more vitamin E and Omega-9 fatty acids than you can shake a stick at. It encourages cell regeneration and patches up damaged skin cells. Plus, it's super moisturizing. It's like a spa day for your skin, courtesy of nature.

Is Jojoba Oil good for skin?

Absolutely! Mimicking the skin's natural oils, it provides effective moisturization without clogging pores, making it ideal for various skin types. Its non-comedogenic nature is great for those prone to acne. This fast absorbing oil is enriched with vitamins E and B-complex, delivering antioxidant protection and fights off free radicals contributing to premature aging. Regular use can lead to the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting smoother skin.

My tallow has a "grainy" feel to it. Is that normal?

Worry not if you notice tiny "beads" or a grainy texture in your skincare – it's like a mini disco for your tallow! As each cow is unique, slight variations in color and texture may occur in each batch. When tallow transitions from liquid to solid, the saturated fat can cool faster, creating these tiny beads. But here's the lowdown: it's merely superficial. When you apply the product, those little beads groove and melt away, leaving your skin pampered and smooth!

What if my tallow starts to melt?

When tallow decides to throw a molten party at around 85 degrees, don't fret. Just give it a gentle stir and continue the skincare fun as usual. If it gets chilly and turns into a tallow glacier, that's okay too. Store it at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and you're golden!
